FDEP Medical Emergencies Online Course (Sports Promote)

This is an online course and is open to any health care professional who is interested in Emergency Aid pitch-side trauma and/or is planning to attend the pitch-side trauma course and forms part of the UEFA Workshop 1 Medical Emergencies (Sports Promote) qualification, approved by The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. This online modular course is not a qualification in its own right, but is intended as an additional learning resource. In order to fully benefit from the course, you are required to read/watch all of the learning material in this course, but in order to gain the UEFA FDEP Medical Emergencies (Sports Promote) qualification, in addition you are required to read the course manual and then finally attend (and pass) the 2-day face to face practical workshop . The pitch-side qualification is aimed primarily at medical professionals who are either currently working in football (or any other sport) or would like to work in sport in the future which includes providing pitch side medical care. The overall aim is to learn how to recognise, diagnose and effectively and efficiently intervene for limb and life-threatening injuries/illnesses that commonly occur in a sporting environment with the intention to improve the rate of survival and the overall recovery status of a casualty.
